Community Economic Development             

26 June 2015 - 30 March 2016

The Highlife Centre, together with the CEVOH network and other partners are working to develop a proposal that will benefit a local geographic area in Coventry to identify needs and find ways to overcome those needs including increasing the chances to attract lager organisations and the local authorities to become more actively engaged within that community.  

01 July 2015 - 30 June 2018

The project uses the interest in enterprise within the Black, Asian and minority Ethnic (BAME)  communities residing in Coventry to engage them into a programme of activities that will improve their employability and provide them skills which will enable them to progress into further training, education, employment or self employment.

The aim of the project is to improve participant's independence, income levels, quality of life and sense of wellbeing.

Embracing Africa Project

Embracing Africa Project that aims to explore and share the rich cultural heritage of different African countries present in Coventry in an exciting exhibition display that tells a story of the way of life of African people.

Community Engagement Project is commissioned by the Coventry Council to raise awareness of HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and Tuberculosis, improve people’s knowledge and reduce the stigma associated with HIV, Hep B, Hep C and Tuberculosis as well as encourage the community to test on a regular basis.

The Ambition Coventry YEI Project provides an integrated and flexible work experience with personal development embedded mentoring, advice and guidance over a 6 week period to young people aged 18-29 that are NEET (not in education, employment or training) to help with an easy transition into employment or self-employment.

The provision of intensive start-up support that will help to address the key barriers to black, Asian minority ethnic (BAME) start-ups include shortages of enterprise awareness and skills, social isolation/longstanding economic hardship, and low self-confidence.
