Youth Vision

At Youth Vision (YV), we actively encourage and support young people aged 12-24 years to take an active role in their communities and entrepreneirial leaders. Our approach focuses on empowering young individuals to realise their potential as community business leaders and change-makers.

We offer tailored workshops, mentorship, and creative activities to help you build skills and advance your career, creating lasting positive change.

The Youth Vision Programme is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.

Activities

YV Executive Programme

The YV Executive Programme offers young people 16 plus paid employment opportunities as activity executives and leaders who are trained to design and deliver workshops across Youth Vision’s creative, enterprise and personal development strands.

In addition to the above, as part of our succession planning, 3 young people are supporting the Senior Management Team (SMT Leads) and developing strategic leadership and programme-wide skills. This pathway prepares them to take on future management responsibilities and, in time, to lead the Centre’s three strands and overall operations.

YV Production

YV Production offers a safe and inspiring environment where young people aged 12–24 use theatre for self‑expression, creative risk‑taking and leadership development.

This activity is youth-led, supporting young people through workshops and productions to develop artistic skills, amplify their voices, and open pathways into creative employment.

Our production has included Ella in 2023, Matilda in 2024, and Into the Woods in 2025.

Check out our events section for future productions.

Our creative development activities nurture and develop entrepreneurial and employability skills, where young people participate in activities to develop practical skills, including:

  • Music Production

  • Podcasting

  • Fashion

  • Hair and Beauty

  • Catering

  • Media & Photography

Case Study: Jummy

Jummy participated in a YV Cafe session focused on mental health, where they engaged in discussions about how mental health can impact individuals and explored various coping strategies. The session took place in an informal setting, with the support of a counselor, which encouraged open and meaningful conversations.

Reflecting on the experience Jummy shared:

"The main thing is what stigma is and how everyone has mental health issues, no matter what. I also learned different ways to cope."
