The benefits of craft play for children and families
Play is a significant part of childhood for families, children and young people. Play is not a one size fits all approach and as busy parents leading busy full lives with packed schedules it can be challenging to fit play in to this for your children. There are lots of different types of play that children can either do with their parents or independently that come at low cost.
Creative Play
Whether this is some colouring or using spare fabric around the house to make something like a key ring or charm. This is a great way to engage your child’s self expression and allow them to make their own choices on their creative project
Messy Play
Messy Play allows children to explore their senses. You can use zip lock bags with cotton wool and water in to create a sensory experience to play with independently. The most random things can keep children entertainined for hours.
Bubbles
Bubbles are always popular and are relatively fuss free as you can get different bubble dispensers to avoid messy spills. These are a great distraction to get the kids away from the screens for a couple of minutes.
